Integration with Word

MSN Messenger is integrated with the Track Changes feature in Microsoft Word 2004 so you can have real-time conversations with others regarding a Word document you're all working on — without leaving Word. Use Track Changes when you are collaborating on a document with others and want to keep track of the changes that are made.

To send an instant message while using Track Changes in Word, on the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Reviewing. From the Reviewing toolbar, click Send Instant Message .


Integration with the Project Center

MSN Messenger for Mac 4.0 makes the new Microsoft Office 2004 Project Center even more effective in providing a single, consolidated view of all information related to a project by including instant message conversations. Project team members can use MSN Messenger to stay in closer contact through real-time messaging and stay organized by saving conversations related to their projects.

To sign in to MSN Messenger from the Project Center in Entourage, open a project, click the Contacts tab, click MSN Messenger, and then click Sign in.

 

Improved alerts

MSN Messenger now provides more seamless integration with Microsoft Entourage 2004. You receive alerts from Office, MSN Partner, and MSN Messenger so that you can act on information instantly.

 

Improved file sharing

MSN Messenger has improved its ability to share files with users across a corporate firewall.

 

New emoticons

MSN Messenger has added more emoticons, giving you even more great ways to express yourself instantly.


Spam filter

MSN Messenger has added a spam filter to reduce the amount of unwanted instant messages you can get from strangers.
